Neal T. Salter

Neal T. Salter, age 65, of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, January 3, 2013 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on January 5, 1947 in Fond du Lac, the son of Arthur and Irene (Stettbacher) Salter. Neal served in the United States Army from February 21, 1966 until January 31, 1969. On July 1, 1972 he married Mary Ann Smet at St. John's Catholic Church in Woodhull. Neal worked at Mercury Marine for over thirty years retiring in 2008. He was a member of Holy Family Parish and Knights of Columbus Council #664. Neal enjoyed volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul and at the Volunteer Center of Fond du Lac. He enjoyed playing cards, woodworking, and horseshoe league at the KC's. SURVIVORS: his wife, Mary Ann of Fond du Lac; two children, Angela Salter of West Allis, Gregory (Morgan) Salter of Virginia Beach, VA; two brothers, Daniel (Shirley) Salter of West Bend, Stephen (Beth) Salter of West Columbia, SC; brothers in law and sisters in law, James (Sandi) Smet, Eugene (Marilyn) Smet, and Joseph (Joan) Smet all of Fond du Lac, Michael (Linda) Smet of St. Peter, Dr. I. Casey Smet of Green Bay; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister in law, Joan Marcelja, one brother in law, Richard DeSmet.



VISITATION: Monday, January 7, 2013 from 4-8 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac. FUNERAL: Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church-Holy Family, 200 S. Peters Ave, Fond du Lac. Cremation has taken place. Interment will follow at Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
