Neil M. Bellis

Neil M. "Chum" BellisNeil M. "Chum" Bellis, 78 of Fond du Lac, died Friday, December 17, 2010 at the Hospice Home of Hope. He was born April 30, 1932 in Wausau the son of Merlin and Esther (Ashbrenner) Bellis. On August 9, 1958 he married Reta B. Fontaine. She preceded him in death on July 4, 2008. Neil received a bachelor's degree in Sociology from U.W. Eau Claire and a master's degree in Educational Psychology from U.W. Milwaukee. Neil was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving from 1952-1956. He worked for the State of Wisconsin as a vocational rehabilitation counselor for 24 years retiring in 1994. Neil enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, Facebook, and the Green Bay Packers. SURVIVORS: include two children Scott (Joan) Bellis, Fond du Lac and Jyll (partner April Scott) Bellis, Festus, MO, seven grandchildren Trisha (Jeramy) Martin, Swannanoa, NC, Anthony (Stephanie) Wallendal, Fond du Lac, Jared (Sara) Bellis, Sturtevant, WI, Jason (Korey) Wallendal, Sheboygan, Jared Wallendal, Fond du Lac, Nicholas Bellis, Fond du Lac, and Geoff Bellis, Fond du Lac, three great-grandchildren Aubri Martin, Morgan and Trinity Wallendal, two brothers Merlin "Bud" Bellis, Appleton, Mark (Marla) Bellis, Aurora, IL, one sister Cindy Bellis-Krueger, Black Creek, WI, step-mother Myrtle Bellis, Black Creek, WI, one sister-in-law Janet (Ron) Stromen, Ames, IA, nieces and nephews. Neil was preceded in death by his parents and wife.



VISITATION: Friends may call on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. FUNERAL: Funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM, Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at the funeral home with Deacon Paul Monzel officiating.Cremation will follow the traditional services.In lieu of flowers memorials appreciated to Hospice Home of Hope.
