Nicholas A. Bernath

Nicholas A. Bernath, age 77, of 504 Forest Ave, Fond du Lac, died Friday, June 16, 2006 at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home where he had resided for the past five months. He was born on November 19, 1928 in Marblehead, WI the son of Michael and Catherine Heschel Bernath. He served in the United States Army in 1954-55. He worked for SooLine Railroad and retired from Tecumseh. He was a member of Church of Peace. He loved fishing and reading and was an avid Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewers fan.SURVIVORS: cousins, Randy (Sharon) Bernath of Eden, Susan (Steve) Nett of Fond du Lac, Nancy (Terry) Steffen of North Fond du Lac, Luann (Joe) Pina of Howards Grove, Daniel, Amy, and Stephanie Nett, Samantha Steffen, sisters, Marion Talma and Christina (Earl) Schmuhl, brother, Tony (Cathy) Bernath, and other nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Kathryn Schindel, two brothers in law, Sam Talma and Herb Schindel.



Funeral Services for Mr. Bernath will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2006 at 5:00 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with the Reverend Virginia Pych officiating. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will take place at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Church of Peace.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is serving the family.
