Nina E. Feuerpfeil

July 16, 1915 — October 24, 2014

Nina Eloise Feuerpfeil, 99, fell asleep in Jesus' arms and was born to eternal life as she reunited with her husband Gerry on Friday, October 24, 2014. Nina was born on July 16, 1915 on her Aunt Belle Gilbank’s farm in Waldwick Township in Iowa County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Archie Richard Huxtable and Clara Gratton. She was one of five children born to the couple. Her siblings, which she always fondly remembered and often shared memories of growing up with were Wanda, Homer, John, and Helen. She was baptized and confirmed in the Methodist Faith.

She attended a local Grade School near the family farm and graduated from Mineral Point High School in 1933. Following graduation, she attended secretarial school in Madison. It was there she met her future husband who was hired as a tutor while she was a nanny working for the Fitzgerald family. This was while her future husband was attending school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. On August 30, 1941, she married Wolfgang Gerhard Feuerpfeil at Summerfield United Methodist Church in Milwaukee. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Fond du Lac and established their home and started their family.

Nina was a member of Faith Ev. Lutheran Church since 1952. She served on the Ladies Aid for many years. She was employed part-time at the Fond du Lac Department store and H.C. Prange Co. Her favorite job, though, was spending time with her grandchildren & great grandchildren, and often providing child care for them over the span of two decades. Her quick-wit and humor made everyone smile, and rhyming and spelling were her gifts that will always be remembered. The annual family trip to the Kentucky Derby, and time spent bowling and golfing over many years in leagues were her favorite activities.

Surviving is her two daughters, Judith Anne (Franklin) Mesner of Greendale and Linda (Kenneth) Wochos of Fond du Lac; seven grandchildren Terry Cummings of Denver, CO, Pam (Joe) Armentrout of Madison, Michele (Jim) Tesmer of Wauwatosa, Matt Mesner of West Allis, Lindsay (Michael) Kemker of Georgetown, KY, and Lauren and Leslie Wochos of Fond du Lac; thirteen great-grandchildren, Zach, Jordan, Luke, Samantha, Jessica, Ali, Taylor, Macki, Maja, Jake, Nate, Noah and Liam; one great great granddaughter, Charlotte Jo Armentrout. She is also survived by her sister, Helen (LaVerne) Strand, and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Her parents her husband Gerry, and her two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
