Norbert R. Breitkreutz

Norbert R. Breitkreutz, 93, of Oakfield and formerly of Hartford, died Sunday, October 13, 2013 at the home of his daughter where he resided the past two years. He was born December 29, 1919 in Mayville, WI, the son of Robert and Frances Finigan Breitkreutz. Norbert worked for Leach's Hardware before going to serve in the U.S. Army Air Corp from January 1942 "“ December 1945 during World War II. On September 6, 1947 he married LaVerne K. Brinkmann at her family home in Hartford and she preceded him in death on January 4, 2010. Norbert owned and operated Hartford Radiator Service until 1985. He was a member of Hartford American Legion and VFW Post 8834. Norbert enjoyed going up north, fishing, hunting, playing sheepshead, and loved Fish Fry Fridays.He is survived by one daughter, Faith (Don) Manke, Oakfield; one son, Neil Breitkreutz, Rogers, AR; six grandchildren, Donny (Candice) Manke, Craig (Charissa) Breitkreutz, Jason (Samantha) Breitkreutz, Aimee Manke, Angela Manke, Meghan Breitkreutz; nine great grandchildren, Logan, Grace, Sullivan, and Elliott Manke, Brett, Caitlynn, Emily, and Caleb Breitkreutz, McKenzie Breitkreutz. He is further survived by one sister, Frances Gurtner, Woodruff; one brother, Donald (Millie) Breitkreutz, Neshkoro; one sister-in-law, Doris Breitkreutz, Hartford; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and his furry friends, Harley, Molly and Buddy. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, LaVerne; three brothers, Robert Breitkreutz, Leander (Lois) Breitkreutz, and Harold Breitkreutz; two brothers-in-law, Melvin (Sally) Brinkmann and Walter Gurtner.



The visitation will be held from 11:00 AM "“ 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 255 W. Lincoln Avenue, Hartford, WI. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hartford with Rev. Marcia Carrier officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.Memorials can be directed to Hartford American Legion, VFW Post 8834 or Winnebago Lutheran Academy in Norbert's name.
