Norwood "Rex" Souders

Norwood “Rex” Souders, 82, of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, November 12, 2015 at his residence. He was born February 4, 1933 in Spencer, IA, the son of Norwood and Elna Carlson Souders. Rex served in the US Navy from 1953 – 1958 during the Korean War. On March 10, 1956 he married Helen Mae Westergard at the Little Brown Church in Iowa. Helen preceded him in death May 11, 2012. Rex drove truck for Schaetzel Trucking until his retirement in 2008. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, taking care of his yard, fishing and the outdoors. Rex and Helen also went to estate and rummage sales collecting and refinishing antiques. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids.



He is survived by five children, Jacqueline (Richard) Mand, Steven (Diane) Souders, Bradley Souders, Belinda (Steve) Behnke, Terry Souders; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Rosenthal, Sammantha (Joseph) Calliari, Steven (Melissa) Souders, Christine (Jason) Strebe, Amanda Behnke, and Daniel Behnke; nine great grandchildren; one sister, Linda (Richard) Page; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen; and one brother, Richard.



At Rex’s request there will be no visitation or funeral services. Cremation has taken place.
