Olga A. HitzlerOlga A. Hitzler, 94, formerly of 290 14th Street, and currently a resident of Lakeview Assisted Living, passed into Eternal life Friday, August 6,2004, at All About Life Rehabilitation Center. She was born September 16, 1909, in Lamartine, a daughter of Frederick and Hattie Tank Mathwig. On June 11, 1931, she married S. Ted Hitzler of Lomira and they resided in Fond du Lac for the rest of their lives. Her husband preceded her in death on March 29, 2000. While growing up she lived on a farm in the Eldorado area and later moved to Fond du Lac with her family. After graduating from Fond du Lac High School, she attended Normal Teaching College in Fond du Lac and then taught at a country school in the St. Cloud area for three years. She was an artist of many talents, specializing in ceramics and fine porcelain painting. Her work was loved and appreciated by her family and friends.She is survived by three children; Theodore D. (Gloria) Hitzler of Mountain Rest, SC, Mary A. (Michael) Hatch of West Bend, and Thomas J. (Carla) Hitzler of Scottsdale, AZ. Further surviving are nine grandchildren, Jeff (Patti) Hitzler, Eric (Kelly) Hitzler, Beth (Charles) Passon, Michael (Judy) Matzke, Laurie Perrigo, Mary Beth (Brian) McDonald, Carlyn Hakola, Alicia (Patrick) Burke, and Margo (Chris) O'Keefe, and several great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, three brothers, Arthur, Nelson, and Lucien Mathwig, and two sisters, Moerley Turner and Marcia Casper.
Visitation for Mrs. Olga A. Hitzler will be on Tuesday, August 10, 2004, from 9:30 to 11 am at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 am on Tuesday, August 10, 2004, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rienzi Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Lakeview Assisted Living, 545 Luco Road, Fond du Lac, 54935, All About Life Rehabilitation Center, 115 E.
