Ora J. BrignoneOra J. Brignone, age 91, formerly of 111 15th St, Fond du Lac, for fifty-five years, passed away, on Monday, January 4, 2010 at University Hospital and Clinics, Madison. She was born on March 20, 1918 in Cambria, WI, the daughter of William J. and Anna (Berger) Owen. Ora was a 1935 graduate of Cambria High School, and a 1936 graduate of Fond du Lac Commercial College. On December 17, 1942 she married L. John Brignone formerly of New York City, in Portage, WI. In 1992 they celebrated fifty years of marriage. He preceded her in death on November 26, 1994.Ora spent many years working as a cashier and assistant manager for Fond du Lac Theatres. She was a secretary for the Fond du Lac County Sheriffs Department for more than thirty years. She worked for eight Sheriffs who all preceded her in death. She retired from Fond du Lac County in 1985. She was a member of the Fond du Lac County Deputy Sheriffs Association and the Fond du Lac County Retirees. Ora loved her flowers, especially her geraniums in her driveway. She loved her collection of cobalt blue glassware. She could always be identified by her unique hairstyle, which she wore for many years. She enjoyed her family, and especially enjoyed her daughter Jean's dog, Laci.SURVIVORS: her daughter, Jean R. Brignone of Fond du Lac, her son, Andrew S. (Jeanine) Brignone of Las Vegas, NV, two granddaughters, Stephanie (Fred) Miller of Big Fork, MT, Kate (William) Ruzanski of Missoula, MT, five great-grandchildren, Jake Miller, Meg Miller, Taliana Miller of Big Fork, MT, and William Ruzanski and Andrew Ruzanski of Missoula, MT, niece, Joy Mutzelburg of Fond du Lac, grand-nephew, Ken (Liliana) Mutzelburg and her son Alejandro, of St. Louis, MO, special friends, Georgia Tolibia, Mary Koenigs, and Donna Yahnke, all of Fond du Lac, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, L. John Brignone, sisters, Orma, Merna Whitmore of Randolph, WI, Neva Owen of Fond du Lac, and Nona High of Fond du Lac.
VISITATION: Saturday, January 9, 2010 from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. at Covenant United Methodist Church, 20 N. Marr St, Fond du Lac. FUNERAL: Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Covenant United Methodist Church with the Reverend Michael Morning officiating.
