Orlando A. Halfman, 90, died peacefully Sunday, June 19, 2011, at the Woodland's Senior Park. He married Marjorie K. Brooks on April 22, 1950 at St. Patrick's Church. Orlando was employed by Giddings & Lewis for 25 years, retiring in 1983 from Kearney and Trecker. He was a member of the CCC, a Coast Guard Veteran of WWII, member of the VFW Post 1904, and a long-time member of the Eagles Aerie #270. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Marjorie Halfman of Fond du Lac and seven children: Gwen (Jeff) Reeck, Middleton, Karen Will, Fond du Lac, Cindy (Mike) Bayer, Duluth, MN, Chuck (Janet) Halfman, Fond du Lac, Terri (Dave) Gomach, Neenah, Annamarie (Tom) Sosnoski, Oshkosh, and Christine (Andrew) Whealon, Fond du Lac. He was blessed with 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 11 siblings and his son-in-law, John Will, of Fond du Lac.
A private family service was held on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum. The Reverend Robert Rosenberg officiated. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Additional information and guest book may be found at www.ueckerwitt.com
