Patricia A. Thornburg

June 9, 1946 — October 4, 2007

Patricia Ann ThornburgOur loving mother, Patricia Ann Thornburg met her Heavenly Father on Thursday, October 4, after a courageous seven-year battle with bladder cancer. Our mother was born on June 9, 1946, the eldest of a set of twins to Albert and Ann Washnieski in Ashland, Wisconsin. The Washnieski's were a farming family whose hard work was recognized by naming the road they lived on "Washnieski Road."Mom's best friend is her twin sister, Terri Hanson, with whom she spent 61 memorable years. They were definitely two peas in a pod sharing everything and completing each other's sentences. They cherished their twin bond and stood by each other through the good times and the bad. Mom was a 1964 graduate of Ondassagon High School in Bayfield, Wisconsin. After graduation, the Washnieski family moved to Chicago in search of the good life. Mom found the good life in Fond du Lac in the late 1960s where she made her new home, married and had us, her three daughters, Cheri, Terri, and Kerri. Our mother spent more than 20 years as a pharmacy clerk at Dana & Worm Pharmacy where everyone knew her for her smiling face. That smile then moved to Agnesian HealthCare's Pharmacy Plus in 2001.Our mother was an avid Elvis Presley fan and in April traveled to Memphis, Tennessee with her daughters and her sister to honor the King. An avid bowler, our mother proudly bowled many strikes with her Elvis bowling ball. Shopping and decorating were a few of our mother's passions. Her creative flair and knack for style will be greatly missed. Mom was the truest of friends-caring, compassionate, and always there when she was needed. She touched the lives of so many people in so many ways. Most importantly, mom was a servant of God and faithfully left her home to join him in His. Our mother leaves us , her three proud daughters; Cheri (Eric) Everson, Terri (Craig) St. Lawrence, and Kerri (Steve) Karpathian. Mom was both a very loving mother and father to us. Mom gave us her unconditional love and taught us to love, give unto others, forgive and to have faith in God. She will be forever remembered by all who love her as generous, unselfish, and loving. Our mother was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren: Ana, Wil, Ben and Wes Everson; Madison St. Lawrence and Korina Greenfield and Karter Karpathian. They will all miss her gentle hugs and kisses.Mom is further survived by her loving brother, Robert (Norita) Washnieski and twin sister, Terri Hanson; four nephews, Robert Washnieski; Rick (Pam) Washnieski; Roger (Lana) Hanson; and Russell (Nina) Hanson, all who will miss playing cards with her. Mom was preceded in death by her mother and father, Albert and Ann Washnieski.
