Patricia Ann BorthPatricia Ann Borth, 78, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Friday August 19, 2011 at Harbor House Assisted Living in Oshkosh after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. She was born on August 5, 1933 in Elwood, Nebraska, the oldest daughter of George and Anna Theresa Remmenga. On October 2, 1954 she married William R. Borth in Markesan, WI. They were married for thirty-five years. Pat owned and operated Borth's Cake Kitchen in Van Dyne, WI and was well know as the "Cake Lady". She later worked at the Kristmas Kringle Shop. Pat's real passion was Brewer baseball, from the farm teams to the major leagues. She especially enjoyed attending spring training in Arizona where she formed lifelong friendships with other fans and many of the players, whom she fondly referred to as "her boys". She regularly attended games at both County Stadium and Miller Park with her close friend Cindy Kay Schneider, and she formed many close bonds with members of the Brewers organization during her years as a Brewer fan. Pat was actively involved as a volunteer at Presentation Catholic Church and School in North Fond du Lac, the Act II Resale Shop, and delivered Mobile Meals. She looked forward to her yearly involvement at the North Fond du Lac Optimist Club Pancake Day. She also enjoyed dining and dancing with the Fond du Lac Singles Club. SURVIVORS: her children, Steve (Sue) Borth of Madison, Jeanna Race of North Fond du Lac, Lori Borth (daughter-in-law) of Fond du Lac, Kathy Kibbe of Madison, Jim (Cathy) Borth of Fond du Lac, and Karen Baumhardt of Eden; her former husband Bill of Fond du Lac; her grandchildren, Dan, Kelly, Katie, Ben, Michelle, Samantha, Julie, Shequita, Sharice, Aaliyah, Kelly, Jeremy, and Mia; and five great grandchildren: Wesley, Alexander, Lily, Marghret, and Ella. Surviving brothers and sisters include Janet Klawitter, Mickey (Don) Wackett, sister-in-law Mary Ann Remmenga, Harold Remmenga, Larry (Betty) Remmenga, Gary Remmenga, and Mike (Starla) Remmenga, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Dave on June 29, 2011, her sister, Roberta Von Loh, her brother, Ralph Remmenga, and an infant brother Clarence; and her dear friend, Margaret Haase.
VISITATION: Thursday, August 25, 2011 from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at Presentation Catholic Church, 705 Michigan Ave, North Fond du Lac. FUNERAL: Mass will take place on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at the church with the Reverend John Simon officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Burial of cremains will take place in Elwood, Nebraska at a later date.The family wishes to thank the staff of Harbor House Assisted Living in Oshkosh, Generations Hospice, Presentation Church, and Uecker-Witt Funeral Home.
