Patricia M. Syah, 83, formerly of Milwaukee, and currently North Fond du Lac, died Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. She was born November 15, 1932 in Chicago, IL to Kathleen (Devine) and Bernard McIntyre. Preceded in death by her husband, Louis R. Syah; her parents and her brother, Robert. Survived by her three children, Terry (John) D’Amato, Liz (Brian) Syah Fisher, and Bill (Robyn) Syah; grandchildren, Sarah and Raechel Zarzynski, Alycia and Deidre D’Amato, Jacob (Abby) Fisher, and Jennifer (Tim) Mouw; great grandchildren, Mitchel Bates and Aubree Mouw; many other relatives and friends.
Pat was an extraordinary woman of high ideals who instilled in her children and grandchildren a great sense of fairness and equality. She was a past president of the Wauwatosa League of Women Voters, active in her church, and worked as a legal secretary for many years. She was very proud of her Irish heritage yet embraced the Lebanese culture of her husband learning to prepare many ethnic dishes, she was an excellent cook. Pat was a very giving wife, friend, mother and grandmother and will be best remembered for her wry sense of humor, her sarcastic wit and her great intelligence.
The family extends their sincere appreciation to the caring staff at Agnesian Hospice Home of Hope. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice Home of Hope in Pat’s name.
The visitation will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 pm on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. Fond du Lac, WI. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery, Milwaukee, WI.
