Patricia “Pat” Louise Kocos, age 87, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018, at the Lincoln House in Fond du Lac. She was born on November 5, 1930, the daughter of Elmer and Agnes (Gindt) Frimark at St. Agnes in Fond du Lac. She was a lifelong resident. Pat graduated from L.P. Goodrich in 1947. On December 3, 1949 she married the love of her life Gus (Gustave) Kocos at St. Louis Catholic Church.
Pat was employed by Fond du Lac County for twenty-five years as an office clerk. She was a charter member of Sacred Heart Church. She was involved in many church activities over the years, singing in the Resurrection Choir and other choirs for over thirty years. She worked many years during the church picnics. Pat was also a member of the Sacred Heart Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a volunteer for ten years plus at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home.
She loved sewing and crafts, and was an avid reader. She was also a great cook and always looking for new recipes to try. Pat loved flowers and gardening. For many years she bowled in the Sacred Heart mixed league. She was a member of her Homemakers Club and Bridge Club for many years.
She just loved kids and babies, especially babies. They always brought a smile to her face that was true to the last month of her life. She loved being a mother and grandmother.
She is survived by one son, Steve (Cynthia) Kocos of Fond du Lac; her sister, Carol Miller of Milwaukee; daughters-in-law, Kathy Kocos of Fond du Lac and Maureen Krause of Fond du Lac; two sisters-in-law, Deddie Makaris of Fond du Lac and Mary Hoehn of Fond du Lac; seven grandchildren, Tim (Kathy) Kocos of AZ, Chris Kocos-Bailey (Meghan) of Fond du Lac, Rebecca (Dave) Hesse of MN, Julie (Matt) Zimmerman, Kevin Kocos of MN, Scott (Amie) Kocos of Fond du Lac, Stephanie Kocos of Fond du Lac; eight great-grandchildren, MacKenzie McCulley, Sophia Kocos-Bailey, Karisma Kocos, Karma Kocos, Kaden Kocos, Adalyn Kocos, Henry Hesse, and Nora Hesse; two nieces, Nicole Miller Gmach and Katie Hansen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Agnes Frimark; her husband, Gus Kocos in January of 2009; one son, Jeff Kocos; brothers-in-law, Jim Kocos, Nick Kocos, John Kocos, John (Jack) Hoehn, Ralph Miller, Alex Makaris; sisters-in-law, Jean Kocos, Triva Kocos, Ruth (Jean) Kocos; niece, Shelly Miller.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 4-8 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church-Holy Family, 200 S. Peters Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. Visitation will also be held on Friday at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of services. Burial will follow at Ledgeview Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank Ann, Karen, and the rest of the staff at the Lincoln House as they were very compassionate and caring during the time that Pat was there. The SSM Health/Agnesian Hospice team was truly professional and caring. We can’t say enough about their nurses and social workers.
