Paul B. Ubbesen

Paul B. Ubbesen, age 93, died Sunday, August 29, 2010 at Lakeview Estates Assisted Living, Fond du Lac. He was born in Racine, WI on March 26, 1917. On November 18, 1950 he married his beloved wife, Carola Brauel. She preceded him in death on May 15, 2004. He graduated from Milwaukee State Teachers College, now UW Milwaukee. He taught in Marion, WI after graduation. Paul was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army. After his service he received a Masters Degree at Northwestern University before coming to Fond du Lac in 1947. Paul was principal of McKinley Elementary School before becoming the first principal of Rosenow Elementary School. Paul was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Fond du Lac for more than fifty years where he served as deacon, trustee, and Sunday school teacher. He served as a volunteer at St. Agnes Hospital for a number of years after retirement. He enjoyed woodcarving, gardening, and being with his family.SURVIVORS: three children, Braugeor Zeitler and his wife, Donna of Pine River, WI, Polly Field and her husband Tom of Mt. Horeb, WI, Mark Ubbesen and his wife Linda of Hartland, WI, nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one niece, and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one sister.



VISITATION: Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. until 12 noon at First Presbyterian Church, 1225 4th St. Rd, Fond du Lac. FUNERAL: Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 12 noon at First Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Anthony Farina officiating. Cremation has taken place. Interment will take place at Ledgeview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Hospice Hope, First Presbyterian Church, and the Fond du Lac Humane Society.
