Paul Claude Meixensperger, 92, formerly of 121 S. Bell Street, died Friday, September 26, 2008, at Rolling Meadows Nursing Home where he had been a resident for the past 3 years. He was born May 26, 1916, in Fond du Lac, the son of Paul and Margaret Pickart Meixensperger. On June 30, 1951, he was to married Beatrice Gfrorer at St. Mary's Church by the late Rev. Raymond Fox. Paul formerly owned and operated P. C. Meixensperger & Son Painting & Decorating with his son, Jeff. He was a member of Holy Family Parish and a charter member of Sacred Heart Church, a Eucharistic Minister/Server and Distributor, Cup Holder, and usher for the church. Paul was a member of Knights of Columbus Council #664, its 4th Degree, and Honor Guard. He was captain of the Sacred Heart Tootsie Roll drive, a member of Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75, and Eagles Aerie #270. He was a member of the Fond du Lac County Board where he served two terms, and was President of the St. Vincent de Paul Society at Sacred Heart. He was a veteran of WW II serving with the US Army Air Force from 1941-1945 in Tunis, Sicily, Naples, Rome and Central Europe. Paul also served as Treasurer of the Independent Day Care CenterSurviving is his wife, Beatrice, two sons, Jeffrey (Kris) and Steve, both of Fond du Lac, a step-son, Lee (Dorothy) Commo of Orlando, FL, two grandsons, Ted and Alex (Niki), both of Fond du Lac, two step-granddaughters, Debra Barrett of Merritt Island, FL, and Robin Commo of North Carolina, and one great-granddaughter, Anna Meixensperger of Fond du Lac. He is further survived by two sisters, Mary Foster of Fond du Lac, and Margaret (Bob) Bartz of Hartford, WI, three sisters-in-law, Florabel and Mary Meixensperger, and Dorothy Koentopp, all of Fond du Lac. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Harry, Alphonse, Carl, and Norbert, a sister, Christine Chaudoir, four brothers-in-law, George Chaudoir, Howard Foster, Alvin Wix, Harold Koentopp, and Walter Reschke, and four sisters-in-law, Rose Meixensperger, Kathleen Meixensperger, Leona Gfrorer, Mildred Gfrorer, and Gladys Reschke.
Visitation for Mr. Paul Claude Meixensperger will be on Tuesday, September 30, 2008, from 1 to 3 pm at Sacred Heart Church, 232 S. Peters Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 3 pm at the church. The Rev. Victor Capriolo will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
