Paul G. Koch

Paul G. Koch, 71 of Fond du Lac, died October 18, 2014 at the Hospice Home of Hope.He was born on August 6, 1943 to Gilbert and Gertrude Schoeller Koch. He became a child of God through baptism on September 5, 1943 and was confirmed on April 14, 1957. Paul graduated from Milwaukee Lutheran High School in 1961 and the University of Wisconsin in 1965. He was a commissioned officer in the Naval Reserve, serving two years active duty during the Viet Nam Conflict. Upon release from active duty he remained in the Naval Reserve until 1973. He graduated from UW- Madison School of Library Science in 1969. He was head librarian at UW Fond du Lac from 1969-2000 and library cataloger at Marian University from 2000-2009. He was an active member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac. He served as church treasurer and with the church library.



Paul was united in marriage with Barbara Vogt at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Milwaukee on June 12, 1971. Their marriage was blessed with five children; Jonathan (Jennifer) Koch, Fond du Lac, Deborah Koch, Houston, Texas; Sharon (Quin) Anderson, Belle Plain, MN; Daniel Koch, Shakopee, MN: and Rebekah (Joshua) Schmidt, Menasha, WI; and grandchildren Coral, Christopher, Crystal and Camille Koch; Jakin and Naomi Anderson; Olivia and newborn Luther Schmidt, and step-grandchildren Christian and Ella Schmidt. Paul is further survived by his sister, Kathleen (Steve) Almond and Linda (J. Reed) Felton, Wauwatosa; sisters-in-law Diane Koch, Elm Grove and Lois (Paul) Willems, New Ulm, MN; dear friends and cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David Koch.



VISITATION: Friends may call on Monday, October 20, 2014 from 5 to 8:00 PM. at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1600 South Main Street, Fond du Lac. Additional visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at the church from 10 AM until the time of services.



FUNERAL: Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 11:30 AM at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church with Reverend Michael Zuberbier officiating. Burial will follow in Ledgeview Memorial Park.



In lieu of flowers memorials appreciated to St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Building Fund or Church Library.
