Paulyne Wothe

April 1, 1927 — March 27, 2014

Paulyne (Bruegger) Wothe passed away on Thursday, March 27, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. She was 86.The daughter of Henry and Malita (Pfrang) Bruegger, Paulyne was born on April 1, 1927, in Plymouth, Wis. The youngest of three girls in a family of four children, she grew up in Plymouth and earned a diploma from the Marvel School of Beauty Culture on May 19, 1946. She wed David Wothe on Sept. 11, 1948, and together they had four daughters and a son: Wendy (Walters), William, Wanda, Winnette (Duwell), and Winell (Nell).A devoted mother and wife, Paulyne and David moved the family a few times before ultimately settling down in Fond du Lac in 1967. As her children grew older, Paulyne took a job at Prange's department store in 1970. She held the job for 17 years until retiring in 1987 and often fondly recounted the memories she made there. But it was the time Paulyne spent with her family that she enjoyed the most. With all of her children settling down within an hour's drive of Fond du Lac, Paulyne was happily involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She could rarely resist the opportunity to spend time with the people that she loved. She would often be seen knitting at family gatherings, always with a warm smile and a kind word at the ready.A former member of the Covenant United Methodist Church, Paulyne was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters, her husband, and one daughter, Winell. Paulyne is survived by four children and one son-in-law: Wendy, William, Wanda, and Winnette and her husband, Dan, as well as nine grandchildren, their spouses, and seven great grandchildren: Carl Walters and his wife, Stephanie, and their daughters Ava and Eme; David Walters; Abbey (Walters) Rewolinski and her husband, Steve, and their daughter Piper; Bob Wothe and his wife, Candeth, and their daughter Clara; Kalee Wothe; Dana (Duwell) Meerdink and her husband, Travis, and their sons Kameron and Parker; Jenna (Duwell) Lawless and her husband, Matt; Nick Nell and his son, Noah; and Natalie Nell.
