Peter P. "Kojak" Cappozzo age 77 of 205 West Main Street, Eden, died Sunday, February 17, 2008, at All About Life Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Fond du Lac on November 20, 1930, the son of Peter and Giovanna Farina Cappozzo. On July 28, 1951 he married Dorene Kryzyanowski at Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church. He worked for Friday Canning Factory for 44 years retiring as plant manager. He was an active member of Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church. Peter was a charter member of the Eden Lions Club serving as President and Zone Chairman receiving the Melvin Jones Fellow Award, charter member of the Eden Rod and Gun Club; he served as President of the Eden Ruff Riders. Served as a trustee of the Eden Village Board and was a member of the Eden Fire Department. Peter was a member of the Fond du Lac Eagles Aerie No. 270, Eden Fishing Club and the Empire Thrashing Association. He enjoyed tending bar and playing cards at the Out Post Bar in Eden.He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Dorene Cappozzo of Eden, his six loving children, Cathy (Greg) Schwarz, New Holstein, Peter (Diane) Cappozzo, Eden, Mary Jo (Pete) Abhold, Armstrong, Ronald (Karen) Cappozzo, Fond du Lac, Tina (Randy) Fell, Campbellsport, Anthony (Kristin) Cappozzo, Wayne, his loving grand and great-grandchildren, Pamela Koehler (Brian), Greg 'Bucky' (Gena)and Steven Schwarz, Peter, Daniel (Stacy)and Betsy Cappozzo, Katie and Dillon Abhold, Jenny and Jessica Roehl, Amanda, Josh, and Stephanie Fell, Brandon Susen, Kaeden and Alec Cappozzo, and four great-grandchildren, Matthew, Madalynn, and Myles Reed and Zachary Koehler. Peter is further survived by four sisters, Rosie (Harold) Kreif, Campbellsport, Dora (John) Uelmen, ARK, Erma Gantner, of Eden, Gloria (Nick) Romalia, Fond du Lac. He is survived by nieces, nephews and friends. Peter was preceded in death by his parents, and great-granddaughter.
VISITATION: Wednesday, February 20, 2008 from 4 to 8 :00 P.M. at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. FUNERAL: Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church-Family Life Center, 20 Wisconsin American Drive. Pastor Shari Routh will officiate. Entombment will follow at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum. Friends may call on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of services at the Family Life Center.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangement.
