Phyllis A. Weider

August 5, 1932 — January 6, 2018

Phyllis A. Weider, 85, of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Adelaide Place surrounded by her family. She was born August 5, 1932 in Washington DC, the daughter of Fay and Hazel Hutchinson Hunter. Phyllis graduated in 1950 from Calvin Coolidge High School. On November 27, 1952 she married Tommy B. Weider in Washington DC and he preceded her in death on June 4, 1988. Phyllis was an active member of Covenant United Methodist Church where she sat at the information desk every Sunday. She babysat dozens of children over the years and was a very generous, giving soul. She was a member of TOPS and was named the 2016 State Queen. She taught Sunday school, was PTA president and enjoyed helping her daughters run the monthly birthday bingo for the ARC of Fond du Lac. Phyllis enjoyed sewing and crafts especially making Christmas tree skirts to give to others. More than anything she loved spending time with her grandsons, who she adored.



She is survived by her five children, Lou Ann Weider, Joanne (David) Schneider, Diane Weider, Suzanne (Jerry) Burns, all of Fond du Lac, and Leigh (Kristi) Weider of Conway, AR; seven grandsons, Brent Mulholland II, Josh Schneider, Jason Schneider, Travis Burns, Jordan Burns, Ben and Jake Weider; three siblings, Frances Ingraham of Kentucky, Velma Alden of Pennsylvania, Richard Hunter of Colorado; three brothers-in-law, Wendall Weider, Larry (Jane) Weider, and Gary Weider; three sisters-in-law, Sandy Hanson, Penny Weider, Barb Weider; nieces and nephews and many others who called her Grandma. She was preceded in death by her parents; father and mother-in-law, Leigh and Carrie Weider; her husband; son, Thomas Michael; many in-laws and other relatives.



The visitation will be held from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Covenant United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Covenant United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Estabrooks Cemetery.



A memorial will be established in Phyllis’ name.



The family extends a special thank you to the staffs at Harbor Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital, and Adelaide Place for the care and compassion given to her and her family over the last year.
