Phyllis J. Melville

Phyllis J. Melville, 78, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at her residence in North Fond du Lac surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 12, 1937 in Fond du Lac, a daughter of George and Jeanette (Wagner) Lemke. Phyllis was a graduate of Goodrich High School. On April 15, 1961, she married John A. Melville at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fond du Lac.



Phyllis enjoyed children and knitting, volunteering her time in the public schools and teaching crafts in the playground programs. She was a volunteer at her church, where she and John were members since 1961. In addition, she was a former treasurer of the Tops Club. Phyllis loved her husband, her children, and her nieces and nephews. John and Phyllis shared a love that was unmatched. She will be missed.



Surviving Phyllis is her husband of 54 years, John; 2 daughters, Julie Melville of Minneapolis, MN, and Jill (Kim Trameri) Melville of Madison, WI; one brother, Eugene (Rosemary) Lemke of Fond du Lac; special friend, Louise Powell of Chicago, IL; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Dolores (John) Thompson.



Visitation for Phyllis will be held Friday, July 24, 2015 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 25, 2015, 10:00 AM at Presentation Parish, 705 Michigan Ave. in North Fond du Lac. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Entombment will follow Mass at Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery, 686 Fond du Lac Ave. in Fond du Lac.
