Phyllis J. Wegener, nee Yoder, entered our world in northern Indiana on May 15, 1927, and left it on September 15, 2007. She was the second child and first daughter of Ella (Burnheimer) Yoder and Harley L. Yoder. She graduated from Warren High School in Gurnee, Illinois, but continued to learn many things throughout her lifetime. She married Glenn Wegener on February 15, 1946; he preceded her in death in March, 1991. Phyllis is survived by her three children: Diane (John) Hoffman, Dan (Mary) Wegener, Randy (Leesa Maxwell) Wegener, eight grandchildren, and three great grand children; two brothers: Dick (Kay) Yoder and Don (Marilyn) Yoder, and one sister, Kay (Bud) Kelly; four sisters-in-law: Joyce Schwabenlender, Florence Yoder, Jean (Murray) Humphrey, and Debbie Wegener; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Her parents, husband, and two brothers, Harley and Stuart Yoder, preceded her in death. Phyllis was a member of Camp Charles Allis Association, and a past member and president of the Fond du Lac League of Women Voters, as well as a past member the Lake Beulah Yacht Club. She loved spending time with her family, and never embarked on a visit to family or friends without her dominoes. She also enjoyed knitting, gardening, playing bridge, and square dancing at several clubs in the area.
