Ralph Alvin Lumby, age 91, formerly of North Fond du Lac, died Saturday, August 18, 2007. He was born on May 30, 1916 in Kilbourn ,WI (now called Wisconsin Dells) the son of Alvin and Della Klakow Lumby. He married Helen Maureen Caflisch. Ralph worked as a fireman for Davis Monthan A.F.B in Tucson AZ, a trucker for Wisconsin Dells Ford, an electrical engineer for Wisconsin Power & Light and Hooper Electric. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church, I.B.E. W. for 55 years and was a former member of the Masons. Ralph enjoyed traveling with his wife, going to auctions, wood working, and playing his harmonica.He is survived by his daughters, Sandy (Tom) Bohler, Eden Prairie, MN, Sue (Dennis) Melvin, Sun Prairie, Candy (Ralph) Searvogel, Fond du Lac, Donna (Neil) McBriar, Oshkosh, Linda (Jim) Knutson, Red Granite, Kim (David) Lewis, Las Vegas, NV, Mary (Mike) Hambly, Campbellsport, a son Jeff Lumby, North Fond du Lac, several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Ralph is further survived by a special niece, Shirley (Willie) Demaske, Mauston, nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his parents, wife, Helen, two sisters, one brother, and a grandson.
Private family services will be held at All Faiths Mausoleum at Rienzi Cemetery. Cremation has taken place."Ralph's family wishes to send special thanks to the Visiting Nurse Association, Oshkosh and Pastor James Burnette for all their care and compassion shown."Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
