Ralph M. Schwartz

Ralph M. Schwartz, 96, formerly of Lakeview Estates, died Thursday, May 10, 2007, at the St. Francis Home where he had been a resident for the past week. He was born December 26, 1910, in Fond du Lac County, the son of Henry and Bertha Reitz Schwartz, and was the youngest of their eight children. On October 14, 1936, he married Anita Pommerening at Grace Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. Mr. Schwartz was a confirmed member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Until his retirement in 1974, he was employed at Giddings & Lewis, a member of IAMAW, and the G & L Oldster's Club. Mr. Schwartz enjoyed golfing and bowling and especially spending time with his family.Surviving him are one daughter, Judith Ludkey of Arlington Heights, IL, one son-in-law, James Flaherty of Fond du Lac; and three grandsons; Paul (Jody) Ludkey of Prospect Heights, IL, Christopher (Ann) Flaherty and Dwight (Jessica) Flaherty, both of Fond du Lac. Six great grandchildren, Danielle and Matthew Ludkey, Amber and Autumn Flaherty, and Summer and Shaelyn Flaherty, further survive him. They brought great joy to his later years. Mr. Schwartz was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 69 years, Anita, a daughter, Kyle Flaherty, a son-in-law, Lloyd Ludkey, four sisters, and three brothers.



Visitation for Mr. Ralph M. Schwartz will be on Tuesday, May 15, 2007, from 9:30 to 11:00 am at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be at 11 am on Tuesday at the church. The Rev. Michael Zuberbier will officiate and private family burial services will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, Town of Black Wolf, Winnebago County. The family requests that memorials be directed to St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
