Ralph H. Schumacher

Ralph Harlan Schumacher, a resident of North Fond du Lac and most recently of The Meadows of Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 7, 2024 at the age of 91. He was born on September 21, 1933, to George and Ruth (Knack) Schumacher.

Ralph served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957, including an overseas tour in Germany. He married Bethel Arlene Weissgerber on January 28, 1956, sharing a loving partnership that spanned over six decades. Ralph received his education at St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Eldorado and Winnebago Lutheran.

For many years, Ralph worked as a commercial truck driver for various companies, retiring in October 1994. His passion for the road continued as he later took on internal delivery work for Quad Graphics until the early 2000s.

Ralph is survived by his children, David (Nancy) Schumacher, Stephen (Debbie) Schumacher, both of North Fond du Lac, Peter (Denyse) Schumacher of Milwaukee, and Kristine (Tony) Pinto of Silverdale, WA. He was a proud grandfather to 11 grandchildren and a memorable great grandfather to 22 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

A devoted member of both Faith Lutheran Church of Fond du Lac and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of North Fond du Lac, Ralph was known for his love of the outdoors and sports, particularly hunting, NASCAR, golf, and cheering on the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers. He and Bethel also enjoyed traveling with Tom’s Christian Tours to many destinations.

Ralph is preceded in death by his parents, George and Ruth Schumacher; his infant sister, Joyce Schumacher; and his mother and father-in-law, Waldemar and Evalyn Weissgerber.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 11, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in North Fond du Lac, followed by a funeral service starting at 12:30 PM. Ralph will be laid to rest at Ledgeview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ralph's memory. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
