Raymond (Ray) Anton Gardin, age 50, died surrounded by his loving family at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac, on Friday, September 10, 2021, due to complications of COVID-19. He was born March 11, 1971 at Fort Riley Army Hospital, Kansas.
Ray graduated from Antioch High School in 1989 and entered the United States Air Force in 1990. He served during Desert Shield and Desert Storm and was honorably discharged as Staff Sergeant in 2000. Following his military service, Ray worked at several manufacturing companies, including Oshkosh Truck, before becoming a truck driver for several local companies and ultimately becoming an independent owner/operator of Ray Gardin Trucking, LLC. His hobbies were rebuilding and restoring vehicles and spending time with family.
Ray was married to Jennifer McDaniel on July 4, 2015.
He is survived by his loving wife Jennifer; his daughter Kimberly Gardin Lewis; his father Don Gardin and his wife Carey of Fond du Lac, Wis.; his mother Virginia Goss and her husband Jack of Antioch, Ill; his sister Dawn of West Allis, Wis; brother Anthony of Chicago, Ill; and stepsons Christopher and Cameron Ritchie. He is further survived by many other family members.
His maternal and paternal grandparents preceded him in death.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, September 18, 2021, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Burial and military graveside honors will follow the visitation at Calvary Cemetery.
