Raymond E. Roecker, age 93, of Fond du Lac, died Sunday, October 29, 2017, at Lakeview Assisted Living. He was born on August 16, 1924, in West Bend, the son of Edward and Cora (Bauer) Roecker. Ray served in the United States Army during World War II stationed in France/Germany. On March 18, 1944, he married Lucille Heinecke in West Bend. She preceded him in death on August 7, 2017.
Ray worked from over thirty-eight years at Sears. He enjoyed fishing in Canada, woodworking, playing sheepshead, and was a natural musician and played the accordion. He was a member of Pilgrim United Church of Christ.
Survivors include two children, Barbara (Roland) Butt, Lloyd (Marybeth) Roecker; grandchildren, Adam (Janel) Zelm, Darin (Jenny) Zelm, Aaron (Suann) Butt, Adam Butt, Debra (Neil) Weber, and Dana (Derek) Butt; great-grandchildren, Abigail, Isabel, Jon, Katarina, Vivianna, Zackary, Nathaniel, and Nolan; sister-in-law, Maryann (Frank) Ewert; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lucille; and three brothers.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, November 4, 2017, from 10-11 AM at Pilgrim United Church of Christ, 535 Stow St, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. A funeral service will follow the visitation at church at 11:00 AM. We will leave church at 1:00 PM for burial at Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend, WI.
