Raymond L. Millay

February 1, 1936 — June 10, 2013

Raymond L. Millay age 77, of Fond du Lac, passed away on June 10th, 2013. He was born on February 1, 1936, in Chilton, the son of Raymond J. and Marie Harkins Millay. On Feb 11, 1956, Ray married Joyce A. Pendleton. They had five children and celebrated 49 years of marriage before Joyce's death in June of 2005. Ray retired from Mercury Marine in 1999. Ray was a member of the Eagles club in Fond du Lac for many years. Ray and Joyce enjoyed spending time with their Eagle's friends and often reminisced about the fun times, the many camping outings and of course those crazy summertime picnics. Years ago Ray was very active with dart leagues, bowling, snowmobiling, camping, boating and hunting. When no longer able to get out hunting himself he still enjoyed hearing all the hunting stories and every year looked forward to processing the deer for friends and family. He gladly shared his knowledge and skills to the next generation of hunters. Ray was also an avid fisherman and always willing to take who ever wanted to go out on the lake for a day of fishing. In more recent years Ray spent time doing paint by number pictures and getting together with family and friends for sheep head. He was always up for a game of cribbage and enjoyed watching Packer games. He is survived by four children: Debbie Vera of Fond du Lac; Sandy (Al) Reukauf of Oshkosh; Kathy (Jeff Lux) Thomas of Omro and Eddie Millay of Arizona. He is also survived by a daughter-in-law; Cheryl Millay, 2 brothers; Justin and Jim Millay, 2 sisters; Joan Mitchell and Catherine Albedyll, as well as grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joyce, a son Gary, a sister Grace, a brother Edward and a very special grandson, Jamie Vera.
