Raymond Paul Zickau

Raymond Paul Zickau died at the Skaalen Sunset Home in Stoughton, WI on March 22, 2005. Ray was born in Fond du Lac on January 17, 1917, to Fred and Ida (Dachefske) Zickau. He attended Goodrich Senior High School and was a lifetime member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He married Ruth C. Weil on October 24, 1936. Ray was a lifetime employee of the Fred Rueping Leather Company. He was an accomplished artist who drew illustrations for the leather company's magazine, "The Mohawker". He also enjoyed drawing many characterizations of family and friends. He was an avid golfer, who played in several leagues, including many years in the Senior Golf League at Rolling Meadows. The past four and a half years Ray resided at The Carrington House in Stoughton. Ray is survived by his children, Sandra (Lloyd) Rowley of Stoughton, WI, and Robert (Sandi Gilmore) Zickau of Sun City West, AZ. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Jeffery Rowley, Hoboken, NJ, Julie (Joe) Lange, Milwaukee, David Rowley, Decorah, IA, Steve (Barb) Zickau, Clinton, IA, Sue (Kelly) Beale, Kokomo, IN, and David Zickau, Palm Desert, CA. Ray is further survived by seven great-grandchildren, his older sister, Bertha Beaudreau of Fond du Lac, a special niece, Nancy (Jim) Kimpel of Fond du Lac, and his nephew, Ron (Lois) Beaudreau, of Cable, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ruth, a brother, Walter, and a sister, Leona Horning.



Visitation for Mr. Raymond Paul Zickau will be on Tuesday, March 29, 2005, from 3 to 5 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Avenue, Fond du Lac. Memorial services will be at 5 pm on Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at the funeral home. The Rev. Oliver Lindholm will officiate and inurnment will be in Estabrooks Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be directed to St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church or the American Diabetes Foundation.
