Renee J. (Solid) Zager, 40, was welcomed into the joys of heaven unexpectedly on Friday, February 15, 2013, following complications of her long battle with Myasthenia-Gravis, while hospitalized at Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee, WI. Renee was born on December 31, 1972, at St Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac, WI to Mary Jo (Olson) Solid and David E Solid, Jr. She was baptized at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Hankinson, ND and confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac and had an amazing faith and love for The Lord.Renee married the love of her life, Scott Zager, on March 11, 2000. Along side Scott, she loved playing with their black lab, Marty, going camping, attending as many Brewers games as possible, and cheering on the Packers. Renee also enjoyed scrapbooking, photography and crafts. Renee was blessed with the birth of her daughter, Joanna Josephine, on May 26, 2009. She loved Joanna with every fiber of her being and adored the countless tea parties that she and Joanna shared together. Renee approached everything in her life with passion and the love she felt for her husband and her daughter were unparalleled.Renee had a thirst for knowledge that she exhibited throughout all her schooling. She attended grade school at Redeemer Lutheran School and high school at Winnebago Lutheran Academy. She loved all sports and excelled at volleyball, basketball and track. She shared her love of swimming with countless numbers of children as a life guard at the North Fond du Lac Pool.Renee was caring and selfless and knew at an early age that she would pursue a career in healthcare. She attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Nursing in 1996. She started her nursing career at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. In 1998 she moved to Milwaukee where she worked as a Clinical Nurse Manager for Neurology at St Luke's Hospital. In 2006, Renee earned her Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. Throughout her nursing career Renee was always teaching and encouraging those around her. She wanted to share her love of nursing and lifelong learning and became an Instructor for the Nursing program at Milwaukee Area Technical College.Renee will be sadly missed by her husband, Scott Zager and precious daughter, Joanna of Oak Creek, WI; her mother and father, Mary Jo and David Solid of North Fond du Lac, WI; her sisters, Shawna (Wade) Knutson, Baltimore, MD and Allison Solid, Charlotte, NC will forever miss the love of their big sister, 'Nae Nae'; her nephews, Brady and Soren Knutson. She is further survived by her mother-in-law, Patricia McCune, Brown Deer, WI; her father-in-law, Donald (Janet) Zager, Marshfield, WI; three sisters-in-law, Veronica (Ken) Zeidler, Marshfield, WI, Nancy Bornbach, Marshfield, WI, Mary Jo Zager, Wausua, WI; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Howard and Lynda Olson; her paternal grandparents, David and Dorothy Solid; aunts, Bonnie Johnson and Carolyn Olson.



The visitation will be held from 4:00 "“ 8:00 PM on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Friday from 9:30 "“ 11:00 AM at the church. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 22, 2013 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, North Fond du Lac with Rev. Thomas Behnke officiating. Cremation will follow the traditional services.In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Renee's name will be established for her daughter, Joanna's college fund.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
