Richard C. "Dick" Morken

January 2, 1933 — August 17, 2011

Richard C. "Dick" Morken, 78, of Fond du Lac, died Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at his residence. He was born January 2, 1933 in Osnabrock, North Dakota, the son of Clarence and Ethel Northfield Morken. At age 9 the family moved to Sheboygan Falls, WI. He graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1951. Richard was a member of the U.S. Air Force, serving four years in the Far East, including the Philippines and Japan. Richard graduated from UW Oshkosh with a Bachelor of Science Degree. On August 17, 1957 he married Sharon M. Spiczenski in Dubuque, IA. In April of 1958 they moved to Fond du Lac where Richard started his career as a State Farm Agent, serving the Fond du Lac area for the next 40 years. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, home remodeling, gardening, spending time at their cottage and watching the Packers and the Cubs play.SURVIVORS: his wife, Sharon; two sons, David Morken, Fond du Lac and Mark Morken, Appleton; one daughter, Kim (Shaun) Mullenix, Fond du Lac; three grandchildren, Kirsten and Brett Stuck, Fond du Lac, Alexis Morken, Appleton; two sisters, Geraldine (George) Specht, Elkhart Lake and Joan (Robert) Scharinger, Luxemburg; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Beverly Mauer and Isabelle Aaholm.



VISITATION: Will be held from 4:30 "“ 6:30 PM on Monday, August 22, 2011 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The memorial service will be held at 6:30 PM on Monday, August 22, 2011 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Rosenberg officiating. Cremation has taken place.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Richard's name to Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45350-0301. www.dav.orgUecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
