Richard C. PaigeRichard C. Paige, 87, of 782 Security Drive, died Thursday, March 10, 2005, at ManorCare Nursing Home. He was born August 7, 1917, in Fond du Lac, a son of Frank A. and Grace M. Waller Paige. On June 25, 1941, he married Dorothy Jaeger at St. Louis Church. Richard was a member of Holy Family Parish-St. Louis Church. Mr.Paige was formerly employed by the Retlaw Hotel as a maintenance engineer for 17 years, and prior to this he was employed by Elmer Kraemer as a painter and decorater. Richard was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps serving during WW II. At age 12, he organized and was drum major for the McKinley Drum & Bugle Corps. It grew and developed to the point where the corps played at the 1933 Chicago World's Fair. He later played in a five-piece country western band, the Range Riders. Surviving is his wife, Dorothy, four daughters; Nancy (Richard) Abig of Wausau, Patty (Jerry) McClone of Crystal Lake, IL, and Dianne Olson and Mary (Jerry) Giese, all of Fond du Lac, eleven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and one great great grandson. His parents, two grandsons, three brothers, and two sisters preceded him in death.
Visitation for Mr. Richard C. Paige will be on Monday, March 14, 2005, from 9:30 to 11 am at St. Louis Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 14, 2005, at 11 am at the church. The Rev. Edward Sippel will officiate and cremation will follow the services.
