Richard "Dick" P. Schuppe

Richard “Dick” P. Schuppe, 80, of Fond du Lac, died of pancreatic cancer on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born September 11, 1938 in Fond du Lac, the son of Paul and June Willis Schuppe. Dick graduated from Goodrich High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1961 – 1963. On July 25, 1959 he married Sally R. Ristau at St. Louis Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. At the age of 16, Dick set pins at the Arcade, later worked for Wells Manufacturing, was co-owner of Dick and Ed’s, along with his wife he owned and operated Our Place Bar in Knowles, and retired from Hansen Refrigeration and Machinery in 1998. He enjoyed bowling, playing baseball, listening to country and gospel music, woodworking and making yard signs, watching the Brewers and Packers, going to his grandchildren’s sporting events, casino trips, and most of all loved spending time with family and friends.



He is survived by his wife, Sally; three children, Laurie Schuppe, Kim (Brian) O’Leary, and Rick (Shannon) Schuppe; five grandchildren, Paul Schuppe, Megan Schuppe, Justin (fiancé, Stacy Kalmus) Smith, Emily (fiancée, Jacob Bloede) O’Leary, and Derek O’Leary; his brother, Terry (Linda) Schuppe; brother-in-law, Wayne (Sophie) Ristau; special cousin, Rev. Edward “Pat” (Joyce) Schuppe; other cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kenneth Charles Schuppe.



Private services are being held. Entombment will be held in the Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery.



The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Agnesian Hospice, especially Betty, Sandy, and Kristy for the care and compassion given to Dick and his family.



A memorial in Dick’s name will be established in support of Pancreatic Cancer Research.
