Richard G. Kester, age 70, of 13 Kings Crest Lane, Fond du Lac, died Saturday, June 2, 2007 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on June 22, 1936 in Portage, WI the son of John R. and Frances (Russell) Kester. On April 14, 1962 he married Marion Seidemann in Kenosha. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Dick began his career in social work at the Department of Social Services in Kenosha. He was an employee of St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac for thirty-two years. His work there included Director of Social Services and Director of Community Care. He was instrumental in organizing the Samaritan Health Clinic and the Adult Day Care Services. Dick was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, boating, and traveling. He also enjoyed playing cribbage and poker with both family and friends. He was an active member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac.SURVIVORS: his wife Marion of Fond du Lac, four children, Pamela (John) McNees of Petaluma, CA, Paula (Stephen) Krueger of Campbellsport, Richard (Amy) Kester of Neenah, Patricia (Greg) Waggener of Brandon, seven grandchildren, Meaghan, Morgan, and Maggie McNees, Asa and Konrad Krueger, Jarrett and Melissa Waggener, two brothers, John Kester of Spokane, WA, and Douglas (Carol) Kester of Kenosha, one brother in law, Richard (Sue) Seidemann of Sheboygan, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
VISITATION: Sunday, June 10, 2007 from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at Ascension Lutheran Church. FUNERAL: Sunday, June 10, 2007 at 4:00 P.M. at Ascension Lutheran Church with the Reverend Byron Bunge officiating. Cremation has taken place.In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the Samaritan Health Clinic.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
