Richard J. "Big Daddy" Stuck

July 28, 1959 — December 21, 2008

Richard (Dick) James Stuck, of W3812 Silica Road in Fond du Lac, died Sunday morning, December 21, in his home surrounded by family. He was born July 28, 1959, to Mark W. Stuck Sr. and Elaine (Carey) Stuck, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his children, Kirsten and Brett, who he knows will be raised beautifully by their mother, his ex-wife, Kim Mullenix. Dick was so proud of Kirsten and Brett and their many accomplishments. He particularly enjoyed attending all of their sporting events (and there were many), and spending as much time as he could with them. He said his one big regret is missing all the great things they'll do with their lives, but that he'll be with them and he'll know.He was the youngest of six children: Sister Judy King and her special friend Jerry Arthur, Judy's daughter Ami Mand, and Judy's grandchildren Jessie and Nathan Trexell; His sister and sister-in-law Marlaine Stuck and Andrea Hill and their children Genevieve and Raphael Hill and granddaughter Aubrey Hill; His sister Suzy McCallum and her children, daughter Tiffany and husband Nick Formiller, son Tim and wife Rashelle McCallum, and daughter Emily Cotter, and Suzy's grandchildren Caleb and Owen McCallum, and Ellie Formiller; His sister and brother-in-law Chrys and Evan Tautges, and Chrys' sons Quinn and wife Tiffany Sullivan, and Colin Sullivan and his girlfriend Lauren Peltonen; And his brother/best friend and sister-in-law Mark and Lisa Stuck, and their daughters and sons-in-law Shawna and Chris Russell and Colleen and Nick Kaufman. Dick valued his children, siblings, nieces and nephews above everything else, and he was particularly proud of having a large and close family. .He is also survived by a group of close and abiding friends who he loved as family. His significant last wish is that all of you take care of one another, love one another, and when necessary forgive one another and become closer over time. Many people knew Dick simply as Big Daddy, and he was known for his gregarious nature, his willingness to try anything (really, anything) at least once, his love of the Packers, camping, snowmobiling, and his dogs Hannah and Lizzie (now in the loving care of dear friends Dr. Don and Jodi Steward and their children Erin and Austin). He was proud of his service in the United States Army, he worked for over 20 years at Combination Door, and he could fix or build anything. He was opinionated and charming, funny yet serious, and he loved to fill his house with guests as his mother did before him. He was the first person to lend a helping hand, not only to his family and friends, but also to random strangers who seemed down on their luck. He was quick to offer a joke and a smile or a noisy high-five, and everyone who loves and misses him knows that he put more than enough into their lives to help fill the hole he now leaves with his passing.
