Richard J. Hernandez, 74, of Fond du Lac, died Monday, September 27, 2010 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born April 4, 1936 in Fond du Lac, the son of Alphonso and Mary Flores Hernandez. On July 19, 1969 he married Judith C. Cohen and she preceded him in death on March 7, 2000. Richard was a member of Holy Family Parish. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked for J.F. Ahern for many years until his retirement. He was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Association and Knights of Columbus. Richard enjoyed golfing, music, playing cards, eating good Mexican food, and he loved spending time with his family.SURVIVORS: four children, Rick (Patty) Hernandez, Carlsbad, CA, Nicole (Ken Koenig) Hernandez, Appleton, WI, Pepe Hernandez, Philadelphia, PA, Jodi (James) Statz-Hernandez; Madison, WI; three grandchildren, Ricardo, Christian, Jadyn; six siblings, Beatrice (Lee) Schauer, Delevan, WI, Josephine Gitto, Menominee Falls, Amelia (Tom) Hlawek, Fond du Lac, Rosemary Hernandez, Fond du Lac, Virginia (Mike) Reinardy, Appleton, Dolores Stack, Fond du Lac; one sister-in-law, Mary Hernandez, Milwaukee; two brothers-in-law, Harold Zupke, Milwaukee, Richard Westphal, Fond du Lac; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Judith; two sisters, Mary Zupke and Esperansa Westphal; two brothers, Alphonso (Gloria) Hernandez, Tony Hernandez; two brothers-in-law, Tom Gitto and John Stack.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Friday, October 1, 2010 at Holy Family Parish "“ Sacred Heart Church.
