Ricky J. "Rick" Smet

Ricky J. “Rick” Smet, age 61, of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Aurora Hospital in Oshkosh after losing his battle with cancer. He was born on August 29, 1961, in Fond du Lac, the son of Harold W. and Norma F. (Petersen) Smet. On June 14, 2013, he married Lynda Pinkerton. Rick worked at Mid-States Aluminum for 39 years.

Survivors include his wife, Lynda; three brothers, Gary (Linda) Smet, Larry (special friend Linda Upson) Smet of Jacksonville, FL, David (Susan) Smet; niece, April Smet; nephews, Jesse (Layla) Smet, Benjamin Smet, Nicholas Smet; great nieces and nephews, Natalie Smet, Liam Smet, Brielle Smet, Miles Smet, and Miguel Smet; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, one brother, Kenneth Smet.

There will be no visitation or services. Cremation has taken place.
