Robert A. "Bob" Wegele, Jr.

Robert A. “Bob” Wegele Jr, age 59, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Monday evening, January 3, 2022, at 9:15 PM at St. Agnes Hospital following a short battle with Covid.



He was born on January 5, 1962, the son of Annabelle and Robert A. Wegele Sr. They couldn’t have been happier. After growing up and graduating from Horace Mann High School in North Fond du Lac, Bob went on to college majoring in business at North Central College in Illinois.



Upon receiving his degree in business, Bob settled down to work at O’Connor Oil and live with his folks in Fond du Lac. After several years O’Connor Oil changed ownership and Bob went on to gain employment with Cole Oil where he happily remained in his chosen profession until his untimely death. Bob was a good man, loyal to his employers, always trying to do his best for them. Bob also donated his time and talents as treasurer for Rienzi Cemetery.



Among his accomplishments, Bob bought his childhood home from his parents and built a new home in its place where they resided with him until their passing. Bob respected and honored his parents, keeping them in his heart until his last breath. Along the way, Bob made true and lasting friendships in the absence of brothers and sisters.



Preceding him in death are his parents, Annabelle and Robert A. Wegele Sr; and his best friend David C. Goodman who considered Bob an “adopted” brother.



Special friends left behind to cherish Bob’s memory are Michael Kontos of Illinois, John Zaharias of Illinois, Catherine Goodman of Fond du Lac, Jenny Fields his “adopted” sister of Fond du Lac, Sara Bartels and her son Gavin Bartels of Fond du Lac, the Goodman relatives who welcomed Bob into their hearts and homes as Dave Goodman’s “adopted” brother, Anne Kallas of Fond du Lac, and Tony Cole of Fond du Lac.



Visitation will take place at 10:00 AM until 12 noon on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow the visitation at the funeral home at 12 noon. Cremation has taken place. Interment will follow the service at Rienzi Cemetery.
