Robert "Bob" A. Cairns, 43, of Fond du Lac, was called to his eternal home on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 due to natural causes as he was surrounded by his wife and children.
Bob was born in Portage, WI on February 1, 1972 to George and Emaline (Baron) Cairns, Sr. He attended high school in Westfield, WI. Bob later worked at Penda Corporation as a Machine Operator until 2000 when he moved to Fond du Lac. It was in Fond du Lac where he married his high school sweetheart, Jammi Cairns (née Anglin) on May 6, 2000. Upon moving to Fond du Lac, he began working at Baker Cheese Company in St. Cloud. He and Jammi also own Tattered Antique Shop in Waupun.
Bob enjoyed fishing, woodworking, antiques, especially his beer tray and lunch box collection, and spending time with his family. He could always make you laugh and would be the first to help someone out. More than anything, he loved his wife, Jammi, daughter Catarina and son Deven; they were everything to him. Although his time here was short, the love he gave was not.
Bob is survived by his wife, Jammi; two children, Catarina and Deven; two brothers, George, Jr. and Richard (Margaret); a sister, Lori Grimmenga; nephews, William Cairns and Greg Cairns; nieces, Carolyn Cairns, Ashley Grimmenga and Cassandra Grimmenga; his mother-in-law, LaRita Lemke; brothers-in-law, Cori Sweet and Daniel Sweet; and sisters-in-law, Kim Huterrer and Jackie O’Boyle. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation for Bob will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2015 from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM with Pastor Bill Beaton of Salem UMC officiating. Cremation will follow the services.
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone, for part of us went with you the day God took you home. You will remain in our hearts forever, our memories and love will help us heal. I still can't believe all of this is not a dream but forever and oh so real. We want you here, but that's not fair it was your time to go, we have a beautiful angel now so let's get on with the show. I wish it was that easy and the pain would go away, I know it will get better but never the same. Grieve we will and that's our right, for we loved you more than words could ever say.
A special thank you to Fond du Lac EMS, the staff of the emergency department at St. Agnes Hospital, Work and Wellness, and all the friends for the support given to Bob’s family during this time.
