Robert A. Tietyen, age 89 a resident of Woodland Senior Park, died Sunday, February 1, 2009 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on November 28, 1919 in the Township of Greenfield, Milwaukee, Wisconsin the son of Edward and Amanda Pagenkopf Tietyen. On December 21, 1940 he married Ann Bittner in Port Washington. Ann preceded him in death on September 5, 2001. Robert was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army Infantry. He worked at Omar Bakery, had Bob's National Brand Store in Port Washington. He also worked for Moorman's Feeds as a salesman, sold cars, and last of all worked as a gas station manager for Speedway Gas from where he retired. He was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church. Robert loved gardening, people and the Lord.SURVIVORS: Mr. Tietyen is survived by four children, Robert E. (Jacqueline) Tietyen, West Bend, Wayne J. (Gloria) Tietyen, Neshkoro, JoAnn M. (Arthur) Hoffert, West Bend, Nancy J. (John) Wilkens, Malone, 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Henrietta Tietyen, Cedarburg, and a brother-in-law,Harvey Freitag, Saukville, and nieces, nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers Norman, Kenneth, and Frederick.
SERVICES: A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1600 South Main Street, Fond du Lac. Reverend Jon Cox will officiate. Cremation has taken place with inurnment of the cremated remains at St. John's Lutheran Church, Newburg, WI."The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Woodlands Senior Park, Creative Care Options, Dr. Mark Leibel, and Reverend Jon Cox."Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
