Robert "Hubba" D. Ryan, 68, of 168 White Street, Oakfield, died Saturday, September 9, 2006 at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac. He was born the son of James J. and Lydia A. Winke Ryan, Sr. on February 8, 1938 in Fond du Lac. On June 8, 1974 Robert married Kathleen A. Dudzinske at Hope Lutheran Church, Fond du Lac. Robert worked for Woodruff Roofing for 24 years, owned and operated his own business "Hub's Saloon" for four years, and then worked for the Oakfield School District until his retirement. In his early years Robert was active in baseball, playing for Oscar's Tavern. He bowled in the Louis P. Peterson Individual Bowling Classic in the 55th and 57th tournament championship. He also enjoyed throwing darts and horseshoes, fishing, hunting, and especially golfing with his buddies, Paul Dix, Tony Evers and Dave Poeschl. He loved watching all sports, basketball, baseball, football, and especially the Oakfield Rock River games. Robert was a member of the Oakfield Conservation Club, past member of the Oakfield Lion's Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #270, and the Tri-County Tavern League.SURVIVORS: his wife Kathleen of 32 years; two brothers, James Ryan, Jr. and William (Cindy) Ryan, both of Fond du Lac. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts and uncles.
The visitation will be held today, September 11, 2006 from 4PM "“ 8PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Tuesday from 10AM until the time of service at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with Rev. David Redman officiating. Cremation will follow the services and inurnment will be in Forest Mound Cemetery, Waupun.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is assisting the family.
