Robert G. "Bob" Woelffer, 85, formerly of 835 Bechaud Avenue, North Fond du Lac, died Tuesday, October 30, 2007, at Merrimac Valley Hospital, Haverhill, MA. He had been living with his daughter for the past five years. He was born September 2, 1922, in Watertown, WI, the son of George and Hattie Mass Woelffer. On September 28, 1946, he married Elvera Dettmann. She preceded him in death on September 10, 1981. He later married Margaret Clapper, and she preceded him in death on December 18, 1988. Bob was a veteran of the US Navy serving in the Pacific theater during WW II. He was employed by the Chicago Northwestern Railroad for over 40 years, retiring in 1982. He was an avid bicyclist, loved to drink beer, tinker with things, and snack.Surviving is a daughter, Lisa Woelffer of Haverhill, MA, a son, Charles Woelffer of Carson City, Nevada, and a sister, Audrey Meyers, of Summit New Jersey. His parents, both wives, and a sister, Jeannette Salzwedel, preceded him in death.
Graveside services for Robert G. "Bob" Woelffer will be on Wednesday, November 7, 2007, at 10 am at St. Charles Cemetery. Deacon Larry Hughes will officiate and inurnment of cremated remains will follow. Members of Trier-Puddy American Legion Posts #75 Firing Squad will conduct graveside military rites.
