Robert K. Bengel

Robert K. Bengel, 76, of Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Sunday, February 5, 2017, at Deer View Meadows, where he resided for 11 years. Robert was born March 15, 1940, in Rosendale to William and Elnora Bengel. He married Diane Soyk of Eden at Tabor United Methodist Church on September 23, 1967, and their marriage of 25 years was blessed with five children whom they raised in the Brownsville area.



Robert loved farming and spent 25 years on the farm until he was forced to give up the career he loved due to his illness. He enjoyed auctions, car shows, the fair, tractor pulls, and anything that involved farming. He loved to spend time around the yard working in the garden. He also enjoyed the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers, and WWF wrestling. He was happiest when surrounded by people, whom he could socialize with, especially his family.



He is survived by 5 children, Ann (Jeff) Smith of Brownsville, Bryan of Lomira, Scott (Mindi) of Fond du Lac, Angie (Troy) Haase of Fond du Lac, and Amy (Chris) Masteller of Waupun. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Katie Wieting, Tianna Jackson, Jordan Riel, Drew Masteller, Tanner Haase, Ashlynn and Brenna Stiel, and a great-grandchild, Shelby Wieting. He is further survived by his brothers, Richard and Roger, and his sister, Ruth Yoeckle. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, William and Eleanora, and his brother-in-law, John Yoeckle.



Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 PM. Cremation has taken place.



We would like to thank Deer View Meadows staff and Generations Home and Hospice Care for their loving care. Robert and his family could not have asked for a better place during his last days. He felt your love, compassion, and care. We thank God for the gift of his life and the blessing of the time we spent with him. We will miss you forever.
