Robert L. Ballwanz, 71 formerly of the Fond du Lac area and a resident of Green Bay for the past 6 years died Friday, February 16, 2007 at St. Mary's Medical Center, Green Bay. He was born on January 5, 1936 in Fond du Lac the son of Leo G. and Constance C. Schraven Ballwanz. Robert was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany. While living in the Fond du Lac area he worked for Galloway West, and Knaus Cheese in Rogersville. After moving to Green Bay he worked at the Oneida Bingo and Casino. Robert enjoyed electronics, boating and fishing.Survivors include his daughter, Heather Ballwanz and her special friend Josh Green, Fox Lake, five brother and sisters, Raymond (Judy) Ballwanz, Omro, Donald (Diana) Ballwanz, Fond du Lac, Rosalie Ballwanz, Oconomowoc, Dale Ballwanz and special friend Vicki, Mosinee, and Linda (Kevin) Ingenthron, Little Chute.He is further survived by two aunts, Eleanore Ballwanz, Fond du Lac, Joyce (Darvin) Hoch, Ripon and nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 21, 2007 from 4 to 7:30 P.M. at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 7:30 P.m. at the funeral home with cremation to follow the traditional services. Deacon Larry Hughes will officiate. Inurnment will take place at Rogersville Cemetery.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
