Robert L. Norton Sr.

Robert L. Norton Sr, age 75, of Mt. Calvary, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on April 29, 1947, in Fond du Lac, the son of Lewis Robert Norton Sr. and Florence Georgianna (Burton) Norton. Bob served in the United States Navy, serving three tours in Vietnam. On February 7, 1970, he married Marilyn Rose Retzleff at St. Mary’s Church in Fond du Lac. She preceded him in death on May 28, 2007.



Bob worked at Vulcan Steel for twenty years, he then went on to work for Brenner Tank for many years until retirement. Bob was a member of Trier-Puddy American Legion Post 75, and Eagles Aerie #270. He had a brain that you wouldn’t believe and he could fix anything especially small engines. He loved cats, birds, watching tv, and his long hair. Bob enjoyed bowling at Parkway, golfing, and playing cards and dice with friends and family.



Survivors include his four children, Deborah (special friend Tim Doney) Morin, Mary Angela (Jose Guadalupe) Martinez; Florence (Dale) Mans, Robert (Sarah Schultz) Norton Jr; mother-in-law, Mary Angela Retzleff; grandchildren, Amanda (special friend Rick) Wenzel, Travis Hildebrant, Jacob Koerner, Matthew Koerner, Coral Mans, Madison Waters, Alyssa Mans, Nathaniel Mans, Courtney Norton, Nicholas Norton, Emily Norton, Damien Norton; five great-grandchildren; his siblings, Carol (Jack) Lucas, Dorothy Schirland, Ron (Sandra) Norton, Terry (Linda) Norton, Georgia Cummins, Patricia (Mike) Walters, Yvonne (Dave) Steinbrook, Barbara (special friend Bill) Mielke; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Eileen and Max Luna, Barbara (Terry Duley) Collien, Patricia (William) Brandt, Hilda Norton, Jane Norton, Phil Gabathuler; close friends, Diane Parish, Rhonda Robson, Donna Wilhelms, Jim Wilhelms, Dan Cartwright, Ronald Mielke, Frank Mielke; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.



Preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Florence Norton Sr; his father-in-law, Roger Retzleff; his wife, Marilyn; grandson, Brandon Mans; his brothers, Lewis Norton Jr, Donald (Becky) Norton Sr, Gene Norton Sr; his sisters, June Madritch, Kaye (Dave) McGuffin; sister-in-law, Karen Gabathuler; brother-in-law, Larry Schirland; special friend, Allen Parish.



Visitation will take place on Monday, June 13, 2022, from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service for Bob will follow the visitation at the funeral home at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow the service at Rienzi Cemetery.
