Robert Lee "Shep" Shepard, 88, of 597 Kingswood Avenue, died Thursday, April 16, 2009, at his residence. He was born June 7, 1920, in Tell City, IN, the son of Clarence and Blanche G. Trumpy Shepard. On May 22, 1943, he married Amelia Ann Mitchell in Greenwood, MS. She preceded him in death on April 14, 2005. Mr. Shepard was formerly employed by Lenox Heating and Air Conditioning as a Sales Engineer for over 25 years. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the Pacific Theatre with the Army Air Corps prior to its' transition into the US Air Force. He had the distinction of being a fighter pilot Ace. His passion was golf. Surviving are two daughters, Carol Lee (Geno) Wagner of Malone, and Robin Ann (James) Bogenhagen of Fond du Lac, four grandchildren, Brian Lee and Craig David Cammie) Vandermolen, and Sarah Ann and Blake Shepard Bogenhagen, and six great-grandchildren, Tate Shepard Winter, Matthew David, Justin Mitchell, and Stephanie Ann Vandermolen, and Madeleine Michelle and Katherine Marie Zastrow. His parents and wife preceded him in death.
Private memorial services were held at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 21, 2009. Inurnment of cremated remains was in Rienzi Cemetery.
