Robert L. Zimpher, 68, of Fond du Lac, died Friday, April 27, 2012 at Hospice Home of Hope. He was born March 25, 1944 in Fond du Lac, the son of Bernard, Sr. and Victorene Lichtensteiger Zimpher. Robert was a member of Church of Peace. He worked for Shober Construction in Waukesha and later for TPL Inc. until his retirement in 2008. He was a member of Eagles Aerie #270. Robert enjoyed cooking, working on cars, bird watching, but most of all loved spending time with friends and family especially his grandchildren.SURVIVORS: four children, Vicki (Harvey) Thibault III, Las Vegas, NV, Sue Gordon, New Holstein, Daniel Zimpher, Green Bay, Tammy (Tim) Skilling, North Fond du Lac; his special friend, Lea Rae "Mike", Fond du Lac; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren. He is further survived by four siblings, Bernard (Gail) Zimpher, Fond du Lac, Ron (Carol) Zimpher, Fairwater, Dennis (Diane) Zimpher, Fond du Lac, Diane Bader, Waterloo; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Bobbi Jo Zimpher; one great granddaughter, Kirsten Ashley Luchinski; one brother, Gary Zimpher.
VISITATION: will be from 9 AM "“ 12 PM on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The memorial service will be held at 12 PM on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with Rev. Jennifer C. M. Dawson officiating. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will take place in Estabrooks Cemetery.The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Jones and Dr. Fownes and their staff and the staff of Hospice Home of Hope for the care given to Robert.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
