Robert R. Redman, 67, of 152 2nd Street, Oakfield, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac. He was born March 18, 1939 in Oakfield, the son of Rudolph and Elsie Hackbarth Redman. He married Judith A. Michaels on April 19, 1958 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Oakfield and she preceded him in death on Tuesday, January 30, 2007. He was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Oakfield. Robert was employed at Mercury Marine for 32 years retiring in 2002. He built and maintained the baseball fields for the Oakfield Recreation Department. He was a player, coach and manager for the Rock River League for 50 years and was named "Manager of the Year" in 1980. He currently was a scorekeeper for the league. He was inducted into the Rock River Baseball League of Wisconsin Hall of Fame in October 1998. Robert enjoyed bowling, fox hunting, reloading ammunition and sighting-in guns for neighbors and friends. He is survived by his sons, Michael Redman, Waupun, and his children Kristen, Michael, and Alicia, Jeffrey (Donna Scharschmidt) Redman, Oakfield and their children Jeffrey (Jenelle), Robert (fiancé Nicole), Ashley, Daniel (Shelene Burleton) Redman, Oakfield and their child Kimberly; a daughter, Rebecca (Michael) Redman-Kunick, Fond du Lac and her children Nelita and Matthew. He is further survived by his mother, Elsie Redman, Oakfield; a sister, Betty (Dave) Clark, Oakfield; two brothers-in-law, Edward (Mary) Michaels, Brownsville, Merlyn Krueger, Oakfield; two sisters-in-law, Mary (Roger) Shady, Oakfield and Jean (Robert) Hewitt, Unity; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Rudolph, his wife of 49 years, Judith, his mother and father-in-law and a sister-in-law, Joyce Krueger.
VISITATION for Robert and his wife Judith will be Friday, February 2, 2007 from 4-8 PM at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Oakfield and at 10AM until the time of services on Saturday. The funeral services for Robert and Judith will be held Saturday, February 3, 2007 at 11AM at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Oakfield with Rev. Robert Bitter officiating. Burial will follow at Avoca Cemetery, Oakfield. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Village of Oakfield Park's Department.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
