Robert W. Duffy, 83, of 34 East McWilliams St., died Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at the Hospice Home of Hope. He was born May 30, 1927, in Fond du Lac, son of Tom and Caroline Herbert Duffy. On January 30, 1954, he married Betty J. Moon in Fond du Lac. Bob served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre in World War II and returned to active duty in the Korean War and remained in the Navy Reserves until 1958. Robert was a member of the VFW Post 1904 and the Fond du Lac Eagles Aerie No. 270. Bob was a self-employed contractor retiring in 1995. After retirement he worked for Dennis Duffy Construction. SURVIVORS: two sons, Patrick (Tina) Duffy, and Dennis (Dawn) Duffy, all of Fond du Lac, two daughters Peggy (Mark) Narloch, Cincinnati, OH, and Bonnie (Jim) Devroy, Green Bay, WI, seven grandchildren and a brother Tom (Nadine) Duffy of Arkansas. Preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Betty on December 6, 2004, and a brother James.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. FUNERAL: The Trier-Puddy American Legion Post No. 75 will conduct military services at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 17,2010 at the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the Iraq Veterans and their families. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
