Robert W. Forton, Jr., 67, of 740 Ruggles Street, died Sunday, June 15, 2008, at his residence. He was born September 23, 1940, in Escanaba, MI, the son of Robert W. and Eva M. Wells Forton, Sr. He graduated from Holy Name High School in Escanaba in 1958. Mr. Forton was employed by Mercury Marine as an industrial engineer from 1965 to 1989, later working for AMCAST Corporation of Cedarburg from 1989 to 94, and Stroh Controls until his retirement in 2003. After his retirement, he was employed by Fond du Lac Lutheran Home and Health Services as a part-time maintenance man. He was a member of Eagles Aerie #270. Bob loved watching the Packers and the Brewers.Surviving is his Special Friend, Nancy Zimmerman of Fond du Lac, four daughters, Deena Freiberg of Oakfield, Sue (Raymond) Sharp, Jacquelyn Buelow, and Margaret (Michael) Schneider, all of Fond du Lac; eight grandchildren, Jessica, Nikole, Alexandria, Zachary, Maxwell, Wensday, Autumn, Nicholas, and Michala, and a great-grandson, Christian. He is further survived by four sisters, Mary Butterworth of Escanaba, MI, Bonnie (Special Friend Walter) Forton of Gladstone, MI, and Jeanie McIntrye and Carol (Allan) Moras, both of Escanaba, and a brother, Steve (Special Friend Donna) Forton, also of Escanaba. Also surviving are eight nieces and five nephews. His parents preceded him in death.



Visitation for Mr. Robert W. Forton, Jr. will be on Thursday, June 19, 2008, from 2 to 6 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 6 pm at the funeral home.
