Rodney M. Rolfzen

Rodney M. Rolfzen, 80, of Van Dyne, died Thursday, March 17, 2022 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born August 17, 1941 in Valley City, ND, the son of Melvin and Leona (Carpenter) Rolfzen. Rodney served in the U.S. Navy from 1961 – 1966 during the Vietnam War. On June 6, 1964 he married Peggy C. Hackler in Treasure Island, CA. Rodney worked as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement in 2003. He enjoyed hand crafting wooden projects and welding.



He is survived by his wife, Peggy; three children, Lance (Carrie) Rolfzen of East Carthage, NY, Vance Rolfzen of St. Paul, MN, and Rebecca (special friend, Al Jolin) Stahmann of Oshkosh; nine grandchildren, Stephen Rolfzen, Andrew Rolfzen, Kristen (Josh) Mereness, Jeffery (Rocky) Rolfzen, Alec Rolfzen, Stephanie (Trevor) Standish, Chad Stahmann, Cory (Josie) Stahmann, and Derek Stahmann; eight great grandchildren; his siblings, Dale (Susan) Rolfzen of Westminster, MD, Neal (special friend, Cheryl Moyer) Rolfzen of Pepin, WI, and Helene (Roger) Young of Valley City, ND; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Eilean (Rodger) Cresap and Annette (John) Flaherty.



At Rodney’s request there will be no visitation or services and cremation has taken place.
